on October 06, 2025, 04:23:50 pm
Maybe for somebody who’s Looking for a GTI

I don’t know how this works but a YouTuber “Saving Salvage”
is giving a GTI away on “Compete for cars”
Looks like it has been in a timecapsule…
Don’t shoot me of how this “Compete stuff” is working😅
Hopefully sombody can be the owner of this nice & clean example 😎👍🏻

For some reason I can’t upload a screenshot of it on here now?!?🙄
Go check it out on YouTube…

Ask
Autodoc
Mobil oil finder
Opie oils
Driven American oil or amsoil.
Vw probably went way thin for fuel economy when new. This is the opposite of helping engine life on a 20 year old car. How many nearly new different vag models burnt up oil and then engines  or was it poor manufacturing...

I looked up cluster removal on YouTube and uk company shows that.
Postal service.
Just to be kind the dials are excessively tight.
Unless the column is dropped fully and you have fingers like ET and the strength of a bear it is easy to crack the front part.
Pulling on the very back you might be OK.

Hello,

I'#039m driving 05 mk5 gti with AXX engine and recently ive stumbled on a weird electrical issue. While driving randomly the power just cuts out and the engine dies. Straigth after the engine dies, it wont turn on but all the usual electrical stuff works and the starter turns the engine but it wont just start.

If you wait a little while for the battery to

I fitted Golf R Mk7 (MQB platform) 340mm brakes to the front of my Edition30 - awesome difference in braking, you'#039ll love it! nbsp Better initial feel and you can just feel the braking power there ready to use if needed. nbsp I resprayed in GTI red and applied GTI decals to them too, looks superb.

Pretty sure Sachs are the genuine supplier to VW. Lemforder are likely to be the supplier to VW but don’t know for sure. They are the OEM supplier on my Range Rover. Excellent quality in any event.

Impressive! I’m looking to do similar soon, don’t suppose you have a list of part numbers/prices?

Just made a new thread for everything listed.

HI guys,
I'm looking to replace my Monza alloys on my Mkv GTI {2004/2005}.....
I've seen a set for sale and the seller has sent some photos of the serial numbers etc on the inside of the rims - photos are not great but I think this is correct:
CAA 063
MAX LOAD 690KG
ET 4.5
18X801
JUL VLA
- Anyone know if these are ok for my car?

Been round an ex-work colleague'#039s place today to change the oil and fuel filters.

Normally I just remove the top lid off the fuel filter and swap the filter but he insisted we remove the whole filter housing so we can drain any water out and clean it out.

Ok fair play I thought... However when it came to leave the car conked out and was just cranking with low
